“As a single parent on a sole income, it can be a struggle to make ends meet. The
generosity of people like you that are willing to assist those less fortunate or those who just need a lending hand is remarkable. I greatly appreciate your kindness in providing my daughter this opportunity.”

~ Parent of Camp Kaluanui Scholarship Recipient

"The Hui has nurtured and stimulated me intellectually and creatively, made me feel welcome and at home. The more we know and understand each other, the less dissonance there will be in the world. Sharing art, craft, culture and history builds the bridge of understanding. The Hui is a place where this happens. I am grateful and I welcome more opportunities."
~ Local Artist & Student in Hui’s Art with Aloha Program

“The Hui does a marvelous job of selecting arts and artists that are of high caliber and skill, whose offerings are a good match for local interest and learning needs. Any support the Hui receives toward making that happen is much appreciated by folks like us, and the benefits ripple out into the community in unforeseen ways.”
~ Local Artist, Hui Member & Student

“Working after school with these children has shown me how grateful the students are to have this opportunity. They look forward to every time they come and learn about something new and I have seen an improvement in their technical ability. For many children it seemed that most of our curriculum and projects were new experiences for them. Many students had not learned about art history, world art cultures, and the breadth of media we worked with in this last year. I have received wonderful feedback from the teachers and administration of the school and they are so very grateful to have been included. This program has been a great success and I would love to see it develop further and reach more children in our public school system.”
